Playaway

The Buena Park Library announces a new product --- the Playaway!!

Playaway is the simplest way to listen to audio on the go. Each Playaway comes with the digital content already pre-loaded on it and a battery to make it play. Simply plug in earbuds and enjoy.
No Cassettes. NoCDs. No Downloads. Just Play.

Each ultra-portable Playaway weighs only two ounces and comes packaged with earbuds and a standard AAA battery to allow for immediate listening. Additionally, Playaway has a universal jack that works with almost any type of headphone or mobility accessory.

Each Playaway holds an entire audiobook, regardless of length. Play time depends on the length of the title and can range from 25 minutes to 80+ hours.

Using only a few buttons, a listener can easily navigate back and forth through a chapter, adjust volume up and down, and even alter the speed of a narrator's voice.

Playaway has an automatic bookmark feature that remembers where you stopped listening and resumes at that point when turned on again.

You can search our catalog by the following subject heading: Audiobooks--Playaways. We have 16 titles now, but more are on the way. An example of a couple of the titles are: Water for Elephants by Sara Gruen and Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen.

What else do I need to know?
The titles check out for three weeks.
There is currently a limit of 1 Playaway per person.
Earbuds will be provided if you do not have your own.
